Get ready to have hair again
Thank you for choosing EasyMane!
This guide will show you how to wear your hair system and transform into the stud you were born to be.
3 simple steps to get started:
- Learn how to wear the system
- Rinse your hair system with water
- Wear and dry the hair system
Important! Follow the instructions as closely as you can.
Do not skip steps unless you are confident about what you are doing.
Products that are damaged or altered will not be eligible for returns.
Step 1 - Learn to wear the system
Objective:
Learn to comfortably attach the hair system to your hair.
Watch the video to learn how.
Important notes:
- The clips should not feel like they are constantly pulling on your hair. That is too tight.
- Don’t worry if the hair system looks flat now. We will fix that in the next step.
Step 2 - Rinse your hair system
Objective:
The hair will be flat after shipping. Get rid of the flatness by rinsing with water. Simply run water over the hair system and make sure that the entire system is wet.
Important notes:
- Do not rub the hair in a circular motion. It will cause the hair to tangle, and the hair strands may fall off when attempting to detangle them.
- Use room temperature water. Repeated use of hot water will damage the hair strands and reduce the lifespan of the hair system.
Step 3 - Wear & dry the hair system
Objective:
Dry the hair system while wearing it so that it will adjust to the shape of your head.
Watch the video to learn how.
Important notes:
- When taping the system to your head, the tape should stick on your forehead, not on your natural hair. Otherwise it will be painful when you remove it.
- Sweat may cause the tape to take longer to adhere to your forehead. If possible, wait until you stop sweating before wearing.
- Don’t worry if you think it looks too thick. That’s usually because you are not used to the look yet.
At this stage, you should look something like this

For some individuals, the length of their natural hair may need to be shorter/longer, or they may need a hair stylist to thin out the hair system slightly. Contact us via WhatsApp or email for tailored advise.
How to cut your natural hair
To blend in the hair system with your natural hair, you need to fulfil 2 main criteria:
The length of your hair on the sides and back should not be longer than your hair system.
Ideally, the clips require at least 1-1.5 inches (2.5-4cm) of hair to provide a secure & comfortable wear. So you need to maintain at least 1-1.5 inches of hair at the areas where the clips are supposed to sit.
Watch the video below or simply bring the haircut guides images to your hair stylist.Â
It’s best to wear the system to the salon. Make sure you are familiar with wearing and removing the system first, and bring along your pack of tape and removal solution just in case!
Haircut guides
The charts below tells you how long each part of your hair should be in order to blend in with your hair system. Screenshot and save this as a reference to communicate with your stylist/barber.
How to keep your sides and back?
Below are the reference photos for different levels of fade. You can choose based on the type of look you prefer.
If you are new to hair systems, we recommend going for a no fade or low fade because a fade will visually make the hair appear thicker on top, and you may not be used to the look immediately.Â

How to maintain the hair system
As you wear a system, the tape will lose it’s adhesiveness and come loose over time. So you will need to do maintenance periodically.
During maintenance, you would change the tapes and wash the hair system.
When do you do a maintenance?
We recommend doing maintenance before the glue on the tape starts to come off. Because once it comes off, it makes maintenance harder to do. If there is glue residue on your forehead when you remove the hair system at night, it is time to do a maintenance. This is usually every 7-10 days.
If your hair system gets dirty before the tape wears out, you can also do a maintenance to clean it.
Important notes:
- Do not rub shampoo on the hair in a circular motion (like how people usually rub shampoo on their natural hair). This will cause the hair to tangle and you will have a hard time detangling it.
- Avoid combing the hair when it is wet. Because you will often have to tug it, causing hair strands to break off. Comb only when dry or partially dry.
- You don’t have to use expensive washing products. You can use any shampoo. For conditioners, choose a hair mask or treatment if possible.

How to remove the system every night
Simply unclip the clips at the back, peel it forward, unclip the sides, then choose a side to peel off the tape in front. Watch the video to see a demonstration.
Important notes:
- It is important to peel the system forward as you unclip from the back. The base of the system should be facing upwards as you peel it off. This will avoid getting hair stuck on the clips.
- Sometimes with new Silk lace systems, the tape might not stick on the base when you remove it. This is because there are some treatment residue left on the base. This issue will go away naturally after a few washes. If you want to solve it faster, you can wipe the lace with an alcohol wipe or dishwashing detergent a few times.

FAQs - Your Questions Answered
Can I wear the system to swim or shower?
Yes you can. We recommend swimming with the system in the first 3 days of changing fresh tapes to ensure a more secure bond. If you are worried and want more security, you can use the full width of the tape instead of splitting it in two.
When showering with the system, do not rub the hair in a circular motion or it will get tangled badly.
What styling products should I use?
You can use any styling products as long as they are easy to wash off. Just look for products with lots of reviews saying that it’s easy to wash off.
Which product you choose mostly depends on what texture you want (matte, glossy, wet look etc.).
Is it ok to sleep with the system on?
Yes it’s fine to sleep with the system on if you need to. Just note that it might not be comfortable with the clips and it will lead to faster wear and tear if you consistently sleep with it on.
Why does the tape come off the Silk Lace base and stick on my head when I remove it?
This happens occasionally for new Silk Lace systems. It is because there are some treatment residue left on the base. This issue will go away naturally after a few washes.
If you want to solve it faster, you can wipe the lace with an alcohol wipe or dishwashing detergent a few times.Â
How can I make the hair thinner?
It’s normal for first time users and their close ones to think that the hair is too thick, because it’s usually a big change!
But for people who don’t see you everyday, they would probably find it normal. Our systems are of normal density and should fit most individuals.
Our recommendation is to try wearing the system for 1-2 weeks. If you still think it is too thick, wear it and visit a salon to get it thinned out.
Ask the stylist to use a thinning scissors right at the root of the hair. i.e. cut away the entire strand from the root of the hair. Thinning at the root will remove weight more efficiently. Usually for natural hair, stylists will thin it at the middle and end. This method will not be able to debulk by a lot. And if they do it too much the hair will look spiky/wispy.
Only thin out the middle section, don’t thin out the front 1-2 cm of the system. The front is the most susceptible to wear and tear, so you want to keep volume here to maintain the lifespan of your system.Â
