3M Hypoallergenic Hair System Tape C-Contour Pack of 36

USD15.96

C-Contour hair system tape by 3M, pack of 36 pieces. Can last for 10-14 days for users wearing a system continuously. If removed daily, this tape can last about 6-7 days. The tape is low shine and thin, and provides a comfortable wear for users with sensitive scalp. Can be used on both PU and Lace systems, and stays secure through water, sweat and wind. Made with medical grade hypoallergic material, this tape is meant for users who experience redness or itching with other tapes and is looking for an alternative. Compared with the Walker tape ultra hold, this tape is similar in thickness and shine, but offers a slightly shorter hold duration. The tape is also slightly easier to pull off a system.

Tips for using tape for hair systems.

  1. If it is your first time using a type of tape, try to do a patch test if possible. Cut a small piece of the tape and stick it on the area right behind your ear, near your hair. You can put a medical plaster bandage over it if you want to hide it. Leave it in place for 24 hours to see if you develop any sensitivity to it. If the area starts to itch and develop redness, remove the tape and do not use it.
  2. You do not need to align the tape right at the edge of the system. Having a 1-2mm gap is usually fine and not noticeable.
  3. Try your best not to have the tape exceed the edge of the system. Hair will stick on the tape and it will be harder to style your hair. Tape sticking out from under the hair system can also be noticed by others.
  4. You can overlap the tape, so there’s no need to trim the corners when they overlap.
  5. When wearing a system with only tapes, you can actually remove the system every night if you want to. Just leave some small gaps between your tape at the back so that you have an easy access to peel the system off every night. The tape should stay on the system when you peel it off.
  6. If you are removing the system every day, it might feel slightly uncomfortable in the first 1-2 days when you are removing the system. This is when the tape is the tightest and therefore would pull on your scalp the most when you are peeling it off.
  7. If you wear your hair system for 2–4 weeks at a time, take a 1–2 day break each month. This lets your scalp rest and reduces the risk of dryness or sensitivity, especially with a PU system.
  8. One side of the tape (the long side) has excess plastic on the edges. The other side (the short side) has a split in the middle. Peel off the short side first and apply that side to the base, leaving the long side with the excess plastic on for easier peeling.

Good Quality and easy to use. Might use up a few initially when you are testing out. I tend to use a hair dryer to “heat up” or “melt” the tape a bit some it will be easy to peel

EasyMane Toupee Size Guide

How to measure your size

Follow our video guide to measure your size.

You will need a flexible ruler or measuring tape.

If you are wearing the system with clips + tape:

  • Follow the video guide exactly.
  • For clipped-on systems, an exact size match isn’t necessary. One size larger or smaller will still work. So don’t worry too much about matching your hair loss area perfectly.
  • Simply ensure that the size selected can cover your hair loss area plus 2cm to the width and length. e.g. if your hair loss area is 14cm x 16cm, you should choose a size that is at least 16cm x 18cm.
  • Always round up rather than round down. e.g. if your hair loss area is 14cm x 18.5cm, you should choose a size that is at least 16cm x 21cm (18.5cm + 2cm = 20.5cm, rounded up to 21cm).

If you are wearing it with full tape or glue:

  • Do not add 2 cm to the width and length.
  • We know that measuring your size can seem daunting, but don’t worry — it doesn’t have to be perfect. Small inaccuracies are rarely noticeable and can be fixed by shaving a bit more hair or trimming the hair system.
  • If you have an existing hair system, you can also measure the width and length of your system and find the closest match with our sizes.
